🌈 Community, culture, and collective care take center stage this spring as Transcending Visibility: 365 Days of Collective Power arrives in Queens. Hosted in partnership with AmidaCare, the program is bringing together artists, advocates, and community leaders for a dynamic gathering focused on visibility, wellness, and sustained collective action.
🎤 The program will feature live performances alongside an intergenerational panel discussion exploring health and wellbeing, creating space for conversation across generations about care, resilience, and the realities shaping our communities today. Advocacy-centered programming throughout the event will highlight the ongoing work being done to support and empower LGBTQIA+ and marginalized communities and how you can get involved! 🤝
🩺 A number of community organizations will be present offering resources and information, including the Caribbean Equality Project, Project Inspect, ViiV Healthcare, ACQC, Make the Road, The Oasis Center, and Northwell’s Expressions BERG. Free HIV, Hep-C, and Syphilis testing will also be available for all attendees, reinforcing the event’s focus on accessible health services and community wellbeing.
🌮 About Fresco’s Grand Cantina: Restauranteur Brian Martinez brings to Astoria his take on Authentic & Modern Mexican Cuisine. He introduces diners to incredible food fusions, amazing drinks, and even better service. Fresco’s is known for their drag brunches and fostering a safe, diverse space for all members of the neighborhood.
🍽️ Guests can also enjoy complimentary food while connecting with organizers, advocates, and fellow community members in a space designed to foster dialogue, celebration, and solidarity. There is no registration required and the event is free to attend!
