Essential oils have been used to promote holistic health for thousands of years. Curious about how you can use these ancient plant extracts in your own wellness routine?
Join us on Wednesday, May 13th for a fun, informative workshop exploring the benefits of essential oils! We’ll learn how different oils support well-being by impacting our mood, promoting relaxation, and increasing our focus – through both science and sensory experience. We will put our noses to the test with a playful essential oil guessing game before ending the session with a salt scrub make-and-take, blending essential oils with mineral-rich salts to create your own nourishing scrub to enjoy at home.
You can expect a warm, welcoming environment with healthy snacks and beverages. No prior experience or equipment necessary – the Center for Wellness and Integrative Medicine has everything we need! All you need to do is show up. Feel free to bring a friend or family member. The building is physically accessible (there is an elevator).

Hesitant about joining? Don’t take our word for how awesome it is, listen to some people who came to our previous event! Below you can read about the experiences of three patients who joined us for the second Wellness Wednesday event, “Spring Awakening: A Sound Bath Journey”:
"There are no words that fully capture what happened in that room, but I'll try. I felt layers of stress I didn't even know I was carrying slowly leave my body — like something ancient and heavy finally had permission to go. Having that hour to simply be, without expectation or performance, and to let the sounds and vibrations move through me, reminded me that healing doesn't always have to be hard. Sometimes it finds you in the most gentle ways. Sound bath has opened a door for me, and I fully intend to walk through it again." — Sanai Fisher (She/Her)
“This was my very first wellness event with Northwell and my very first sound bath, and it was an amazing experience! Having this space and event dedicated to fostering connectivity and wellness for trans people and our allies was such a healing, heart-warming experience. It's so easily to become isolate as a trans person, and having these dedicated events to meet others in my community is such an amazing thing to lean on, and even at my first event I met so many people. Just the people alone have made a future regular to these Wellness Wednesday events, let alone the various interesting, expansive activities during them.
The sound bath itself was such an amazing experience, and the instructor, Lisa, was so knowledgeable and such a sweetheart. She took the time to explain her methodology, the purpose of her exercises, and how it can help each and every one of us. It was so peaceful; the various instruments and tools Lisa used to direct us on our journey were amazing in the breadth of experiences and memories they could unlock. There was something she used to make this sound of rustling leaves that brought me right back to my childhood, and speaking to other participants after the sound bath, that was a shared experience amongst all of us. The discussion afterwards was wonderful, getting to hear how the various sounds brought back wonderful memories for some us, and for one of the participants it even brought relief to their tinnitus. I had never heard of sound baths before this, and afterwards, it's something I'm going to seek out! — Aurelia (She/They)
